RETURN TO THE LIVING WORLD

An ecology of belonging in the more-than-human

There is a world that you belong to

Older than your name.

Larger than your worries.

Alive beneath your feet and above your head.

A world of tides and roots. Weather and wings.

Of soil becoming flower becoming fruit becoming body.

Of breath passing endlessly between lives.

And somewhere along the way, we began to experience ourselves as separate from it.

You have been part of it all along.

Lush Green Foliage

is this for me?

Perhaps you miss something you can't quite name.

You want to spend more time outside, but somehow life keeps getting in the way.

You long for quieter thoughts, bare feet, cold water, dirty hands, enormous skies. You want to know the names of the things growing around you. To grow something yourself. To feel wonder more often.

Perhaps you've found yourself searching for something more — through spirituality, creativity, movement, meditation or simply that inexplicable feeling of peace when you stand beside the sea.

Or perhaps you're simply tired of feeling as though you're observing the world through a window.

You want to feel part of it again.

You don't need to know anything about ecology.
You don't need to be outdoorsy or spiritual.

You only need to be curious about what might happen if you came a little closer.

Return to something bigger.

This isn't really about “nature connection.”

It's about undoing the imagined boundary between human and world. We aren't visitors to nature. Our bodies are already in constant relationship with soil, water, weather, plants, animals, fungi and countless other lives.

Return to the Living World creates space to experience that relationship rather than simply understand it.

Through movement, breath, sensory exploration, ecology, creativity and deep rest, we'll slow down enough to notice the place we're in — its rhythms, inhabitants, histories and stories — and remember ourselves within it.

Not as scenery.
Not as something to consume.
Not simply as a way to feel better.

As something we belong to.

And perhaps, for a quiet moment, the edges soften.

Your world becomes larger.

Your mind becomes quieter.

And you remember:

I am not alone here.
I am not outside of this.
I belong.

Become part of the story

Every landscape has something different to teach us.

Return to the Living World is shaped by the places and people it encounters. We want to work alongside those who know, love and care for the land — bringing together local knowledge, ecology, creativity and embodied practice to create experiences that could only happen there.

Perhaps you care for a woodland, farm, orchard or community garden. Perhaps you're restoring a habitat, protecting a coastline, growing food, studying wildlife, making art with the land or helping people understand a particular place.

We'd love to meet you.

Together, we can create gatherings that invite people not simply to visit a landscape, but to notice it, know it, belong within it — and care about what happens to it.
